Gucci sent an e-mail earlier today that Penelope Cruz would be wearing a gown from the first Gucci Premiere collection, designed by Frida Giannini and produced in an atelier in Paris. It was to be a kind of couture debut for the label. Except that Penelope apparently changed her mind, and Gucci had to issue a retraction. Bummer.
Instead, the ‘Nine’ actress chose a black dress with beaded fringe at the shoulders by stylist/designer L’Wren Scott. Guess a few of these ladies really do leave it to the last possible moment after all.
