Chile’s president on Monday announced a $1-billion subsidy fund to stem the rise of fuel prices.
Michelle Bachelet said the measure should cut gasoline prices by about $0.10 a liter -- nearly 40 U.S. cents a gallon. Regular gasoline now sells for an average $1.30 a liter-- about $4.90 a gallon, reports the Associated Press.
