Who Do You Think You Are? In this new episode, Lionel Richie travels through the American South looking for information on his maternal great-grandfather, a personal journey that takes him from the Tuskegee, Ala., neighborhood where he grew up to Nashville (8 p.m. NBC).
Smallville: Tess and Lionel (Cassidy Freeman, John Glover) square off in a bitter battle for the Luthor name in this new episode (8 p.m. KTLA).
Supernatural: While hunting the same monster, Dean, Sam and Bobby (Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Jim Beaver) run into Gwen and Samuel (Jessica Heafey, Mitch Pileggi) in this new episode (9 p.m. KTLA).
Phineas and Ferb: The animated series returns for a new season (9 p.m. Disney).
American Loggers: The lumber harvesters return for a new season (10 p.m. Discovery).

42nd NAACP Image Awards: Holly Robinson Peete and Wayne Brady host the “42nd NAACP Image Awards.” Among the motion picture categories, Jaden Smith (“The Karate Kid”), Denzel Washingon (“The Book of Eli”) and Morgan Freeman (“Red”) vie for best actor with Anthony Mackie (“Night Catches Us”) and Common (“Just Wright”) (8 p.m. Fox).
MOVIES
The Ghost Writer: Director Roman Polanski adapts novelist Robert Harris’ story of a writer (Ewan McGregor) summoned to help a former British prime minister (Pierce Brosnan) prepare his memoirs but discovers facts that ultimately place him in peril in this 2010 thriller (10 p.m. Showtime).
