Galaxy is off and running

The Galaxy, which was tied, 1-1, with the Colorado Rapids only 20 minutes ago, now holds a 3-1 lead with less than 10 minutes left in the match.

Substitute Brandon McDonald has just scored perhaps the goal of the season for Los Angeles, unleashing a rising shot from 35 yards that almost tore the back off the Colorado net.

With the now-expected victory, the Galaxy would climb out of last place in the league and remain in the hunt, albeit barely, for a playoff spot with two regular-season games remaining.
