Austin Hatch, a 2013 basketball recruit committed to Michigan, was in critical condition Sunday after being in a plane crash Friday night in Charlevioix, Mich. His father and stepmother died in the crash, according to AnnArbor.com.
Hatch attends Canterbury School in Fort Wayne, Ind.
The single-engine plane was piloted by his father, Dr. Stephen Hatch. Passenger Kim Hatch was Austin’s stepmother. Austin Hatch was the lone survivor of the accident.
This isn’t the first plane crash for Hatch. He survived a 2003 crash in which his father was the pilot and killed were his mother, sister and brother.
