The year-to-date number of homicides in Los Angeles County is about 591. This number does not include a few cases in which the cause of death has been deferred.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has confirmed the following recent deaths as homicides:
Stephanie Almanzan, a 21-year-old white woman, on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Almanzan was found burned in the 13100 block of Firestone Boulevard in Whittier.
Victor Rosales, a 25-year-old white man, on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Rosales was shot in the 3900 block of West 112th Street in Inglewood.
Esperanza Serrano, a 66-year-old Latina, on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Serrano was shot in the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Lynwood.
Joaquin Navarro, a 20-year-old Latino, on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Navarro was shot in the 14600 block of Blythe Street in Panorama.
Reginald Hendrix Jr., a 28-year-old black man, on Thursday, Oct. 8. Hendrix was shot in the 100 block of West 74th Street in Florence.
Diamond Hiloman, a female black infant, on Friday, Oct. 9. No other information was provided by the coroner.
Juan Guijarro-Ramirez, a 44-year-old Latino, on Sunday, Oct. 11. Guijarro-Ramirez was assaulted in the 11700 block of Victory Boulevard in North Hollywood.
Anthony Torres, a 33-year-old Latino, on Sunday, Oct. 11. Torres was shot in the 5900 block of East Northside Drive in East Los Angeles.
Marvin Nicholson, a 13-year-old black youth, on Monday, Oct. 12. Nicholson was shot in the 900 block of South Grandee Avenue in Compton.
