Baseball: Chatsworth earns share of league title

It took only five innings Saturday for Chatsworth to earn a share of the West Valley League championship. The Chancellors defeated Granada Hills, 13-0, behind pitcher Angel Rodriguez, who threw a one-hitter with six strikeouts.

Chatsworth finishes the regular season at 23-4 overall and 9-1 in league, tied with Woodland Hills El Camino Real.

Ricky Obando had three hits, including two doubles. Kevin Siegel drove in two runs. Sean O’Connell had two hits and Aaron Brown had a three-run triple.

The City Section seedings will be decided on Wednesday.

Los Angeles Cathedral won the championship game of the Roosevelt tournament with a 12-0 victory over Sun Valley Poly. Joshua Ibarra and Chris Flores had three hits apiece. Sergio Luna (10-2) allowed two hits in six innings. Cathedral is 22-3.
