Thirteen U.S. aerospace firms, primarily located on the West Coast, notified the Justice Department’s antitrust division that they are exploring the possibility of setting up a joint research and development effort under the name Software Productivity Consortium. Included in the group are Lockheed Corp., Northrop Corp., TRW Corp., Ford Aerospace & Communications Corp., Rockwell International Corp., Science Applications International Corp., McDonnell Douglas Corp. and General Dynamics Corp.
