A former psychiatric patient already facing two murder charges will be charged with a third homicide in the beating death of Harry Dong, 48, who died Monday at University Medical Center in Sacramento. Dong, of Sacramento, was taken to the hospital after being found near death after a hammer attack in the men’s room of Sutter’s Fort. Jones, who was free on bail while awaiting trial on a robbery charge, is also charged with the beating murders of Fred Morris, 34, a physics instructor at the University of California, Davis, and Dr. Michael Corbett, 35. Both men were found beaten to death in men’s restrooms. Jones is also a suspect in the attempted murder of John Rowland, a third-year medical student, who was attacked with a claw hammer.
