The California Highway Patrol is looking for a hit-and-run driver who fatally injured a Granada Hills man as he stood on the center divider of the Simi Valley Freeway Tuesday night, a CHP spokesman said.
The victim, Martin Seftel, 56, ran to the center divider about three-fourths of a mile west of the San Diego Freeway after his car was disabled in a collision with another vehicle at about 11 p.m., Officer Kenn Rosenberg said.
A third car swerved into the center divider, attempting to avoid Seftel’s car, which was blocking traffic. It hit Seftel instead, Rosenberg said.
Seftel was pronounced dead on arrival at Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, a hospital spokeswoman said.
