Santa Clara County officials said they will seek a preliminary injunction to shut down a Silicon Valley firm that reconditions and recycles chemical drums, noting that it is listed as one of the worst toxic waste sites in the nation. Deputy Dist. Atty. Jerome Nadler said criminal charges may also be sought against Lorentz Barrel and Drum Co. of San Jose. In a surprise inspection of the plant, state health investigators allegedly found 300 barrels of hazardous wastes illegally stored.
