The City Council has agreed to allow temporary outdoor vendors on commercial property if the sales area is covered by a permanent roof.
An ordinance to permit such sales for 25-day periods will come back before the council May 7.
The council took the action on behalf of photographer John Post, who requested city permission to display his work in front of the Beach Door, 330 Manhattan Beach Blvd., during the December holiday season.
He was allowed to sell photographs last December only by special council approval.
