The West Los Angeles College baseball team, after playing at 2 p.m. today at Los Angeles Mission College, will try to strengthen its hold on second place in the Mountain Valley Conference at 2 p.m. Tuesday at third-place Los Angeles Valley.
WLAC, 9-5 in conference, trails College of the Canyons by 2 1/2 games.
Last-place Mission, 2-12-1 in conference, may not cause trouble for the Oilers, but Valley (8-6 in conference) has beaten WLAC twice.
Last week the Oilers dropped a non-league game to Allan Hancock, 3-2.
