Services Scheduled for Byron Wanglin

Memorial services for Byron Chase Wanglin, a founding member of the Westwood Village Chamber of Commerce and former owner of the Westwood Hills Press, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Westwood Hills Christian Church, 10808 LeConte Ave., Westwood.
Wanglin died Friday at Crescent Bay Convalescent Hospital in Santa Monica after a long illness. He was 82.
A native of Webb City, Mo., Webb founded the Press in 1929 and sold it eight years later to the Santa Monica Outlook.
He was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and, during World War II, headed the Navy’s training programs at USC and Occidental College. He also served as a naval attache to the White House during the Truman Administration. He retired from the Naval Reserve as a full commander.
Wanglin is survived by four children.
