Chapman Advances Three in Tennis

Three members of the Chapman College tennis team advanced to today’s quarterfinal round of the NCAA Div. 2 men’s singles championships at Cal State Northridge.
Terry Davis, the No. 6 seed, defeated Bob Zoller of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 6-4, 7-6, Friday. Davis will play Brian Mehmedbasich of Cal State Hayward today.
Freshman Paul Wakesa beat Paul Landry of San Luis Obispo, 7-6, 6-4. Wakesa will meet No. 5-seeded Scott Appledorn of Ferris State of Michigan.
Junior John Kline defeated Rozzelle Lightfoot, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. He’ll face No. 8 seed Rolf Wiedenmeyer of Hayward.
Quarterfinal matches begin at 9 a.m. Semifinals will start at noon.
