Left, right; left, right; wrong! Tommy Lasorda hits Yeager (.170 right-hander) for Scioscia (.280 left-hander), then he hits Mike Ramsey (.167 right-hander who hasn’t played major league ball in over a year, for Terry Whitfield (.423 left-hander) who homered in his last at-bat.
It’s that kind of thinking that destroyed the confidence of Ken Landreaux, Candy Maldonado and all the other hitters Lasorda thinks can’t hit pitchers throwing from the same side.
With only the left or right side of Lasorda’s brain working at a time, the Dodgers are destined to another .500 season.
