Saronni Retains Lead in Italian Cycle Race

PINZOLO, Italy — Italian Giuseppe Saronni won the third stage of the Italian open road cycling tour Sunday and remained the race’s overall leader.
Saronni rallied to take first place in the 118-mile leg from Milan to Pinzolo. On Saturday, Saronni had taken the leader’s position from compatriot Francesco Moser.
