Roxana Rafik pitched her 10th shutout as Viewpoint High advanced to the Small Schools softball semifinals with a 12-0 win Thursday at Cate of Carpenteria.
Rafik (17-1) has not allowed an earned run in her last 100 innings. Her earned-run average is 0.18.
Jaime Berkman led the Patriots’ offense with a triple and four runs batted in.

Grant 7, Hollywood 0
Rodney Beck pitched a three-hit shutout and struck out 14 as Grant cruised to an East Valley win at Hollywood.
Grant clinched the league championship last week and will meet Monroe next Friday in the first round of playoff action.

Jody Richardson executed a seventh-inning squeeze that scored Chad Butrum with the winning run. North Hollywood wrapped up the regular season with an East Valley League win at Verdugo Hills.
North Hollywood (13-5) finished second in league and will face San Fernando in the first round of the City playoffs, next Friday.
