Sculpture Proposed
This drawing is about the recent Port District dilemma over the proposed Ellsworth Kelly sculpture.
As an artist, I have watched in amazement the political and emotional garbage that must certainly accompany anything that costs more than $1.98 in public funds.
The caption with it reads: Dateline San Diego, 1999: Crowds of concerned citizens finally prepare to unveil the sculpture that best represents the San Diego attitude about art in public places. (With apologies to The Big Boy.)
