Under the contract, International Business Machines will replace the current computer system in 20 air traffic control centers. The contract is a major step in the Federal Aviation Agency’s program to modernize its air traffic control capabilities. The contract has a basic value of $196.9 million and includes options for maintenance, hardware and technical support.
