Arizona Outlaw co-owner Bill Tatham Jr. said that his U.S. Football League club is trying to block Tampa Bay Bandits running back Gary Anderson from clearing waivers and jumping to the San Diego Chargers of the NFL.

Anderson reportedly has reached an oral agreement allowing the Chargers to buy out his Bandits’ contract for $350,000 so he can sign a new four-year, $2 million deal with San Diego. But first, Anderson has to clear USFL waivers, and Tatham said he put in a claim for Anderson.
