The Ontario Commercentre in the California Commerce Center at Ontario is the site of new facilities for Edwards Manufacturing Co., General Telephone Electronics and Kaman Bearing Inc., according to a spokesman for JS Development, Newport Beach.
The $8.5-million, 475,000-square-foot development on 24 acres will have seven buildings, according to Robert J. Searles, a JS partner. Edwards Manufacturing has leased 90,000 square feet of space and has an option for an additional 44,000 square feet.
Kaman Bearing Inc. will establish a new western regional headquarters in a 54,000-square-foot building. The Connecticut-based firm is consolidating its Los Angeles area operations, according to Len Santoro of Coldwell Banker’s City of Industry office. Coldwell Banker is the leasing agent.
General Telephone Electronics has leased 26,000 square feet of space in the development for a distribution center for new telephone equipment.
California Commerce Center is a 1,350-acre master-planned business park adjoining Ontario International Airport. It is part of the Port of Long Beach Foreign Trade Zone 50 and is the largest privately owned foreign trade zone in the nation.
