Purse Friend

As a longtime traveling purse plunger, I’d like to add a few suggestions to those made by Betty Lukas in “Purse Is the Traveler’s Best Friend” (Sept. 8). Buy a few clear-plastic kits to organize the clutter; best are those with metal, spring-type top closures. Put currency, travelers checks and credit card in a red wallet--easier to find, harder to lose.
Instead of copying names and addresses from your desk address book into a smaller one, copy them onto sheets of 1 by 2 3/4-inch self-adhesive labels which can be peeled off and quickly stuck onto your correspondence. . . . Include a few zip-lock bags in that ever-loving purse. They’re much handier and more sanitary than facial tissues for keeping crackers, cheese and fruit.
