San Diego Prep Football : Despite Dean’s Exploits, Madison Can Only Tie

Jimmy Dean, Madison High School running back, rushed for 129 yards on 19 carries but the Warhawks could manage only a field goal in a 3-3 tie against Central High in a non-league game at El Centro Saturday night.
Madison scored first on a 42-yard field goal by Todd Scott midway through the second quarter. Central (3-0-1) tied the game with a 35-yard kick in the third quarter. The Warhawks (2-1-1) were inside the Central 15-yard line twice after Scott’s field goal, but failed to score both times.
In Coastal League action:
Coronado 31, Army-Navy 13--Coronado (1-0, 1-3), in its first season of 1-A competition, picked up its first Coastal League win. Jason Simpson had a 47-yard touchdown run for Army-Navy (0-1, 1-2).
