It wasn’t much--an eighth-place finish in a nine-team tournament--but the Chapman College men’s water polo team had a brief time in the spotlight Sunday when the Panthers beat Chaminade of Honolulu, 12-10.
Chapman, 1-3 in the Trojan Open won by USC’s junior varsity, was led by John Bristol’s four goals in its win over Chaminade (0-4). Bristol had nine goals in the two-day tournament. In Sunday’s first match Chapman (2-9) fell to Pomona-Pitzer, 12-4.
