Those wild and crazy celebrities may be coming and going at the White House, but cross-dressing is still taboo--no matter what USA Today says.
It reported last week that actor Michael J. Fox attended a state dinner “with his regular gal, Nancy McKeon, looking glamorous in a glittery white-and-silver short dress.”
Fox’s publicist corrected the grammatical gaffe.
“I wish I could say he wore a dress as a joke, but he didn’t,” said his publicist, Nancy Ryder. “Gianni Versace (a leading Italian designer) made his tuxedo.”
Even then, she added, “one of the Washington papers made a joke about him wearing a flight attendant’s jacket. They really pay attention to your clothes when you go to Washington.”
