USIU Defeats UCSB in Soccer Match, 2-0

SAN DIEGO — United States International University beat UC Santa Barbara, 2-0, Saturday in a Southwest Conference soccer match at USIU.
Andy Walker scored the first goal for USIU (3-0-1, 9-3-2) in the game’s fourth minute. Gary Vandermolen scored his seventh goal of the season in the 53rd minute. Santa Barbara dropped to (0-4-1, 6-9-1).
USIU goalie Gary Francis had three saves in recording his sixth shutout. Francis lowered his goals against average to fewer than one goal per game. USIU plays host to UC Irvine Wednesday at 3 p.m.
