Yes, Clark Won It--and Lasorda Lost It

All year I’ve heard nothing but what a great motivator Tommy Lasorda is. Well, where was this motivation when the Dodgers needed it most? The Dodgers didn’t go down fighting, they quit with three outs to go. If the Cardinals had quit after Mike Marshall’s home run, there would have been a Game 7. Is Lasorda’s idea of motivation using every four-letter expletive in the book? It seemed to me Lasorda’s mind was somewhere else, maybe on his next meal.
