Salvatore Leads UCI to Water Polo Win

J.R. Salvatore scored five goals and Brett DeValle added four to lead UC Irvine to a 13-7 win over UC San Diego in a nonconference water polo match Saturday in San Diego.
The Anteaters, ranked third in the nation, got nine saves from goalie Mark Maizel as they improved their overall record to 14-5. They will meet the U.S. National team at 12:30 today at Newport Harbor High School. UC San Diego’s record dropped to 11-9.
