Local News in Brief : Woman Slain Outside Her Encino Apartment

An Encino woman was shot to death Sunday outside her apartment building during an apparent robbery attempt, Los Angeles police said Monday.
Marianne Ella Andersson, 54, was shot once in the upper body about 7:40 p.m. as she walked in the 5400 block of Yarmouth Avenue, Detective Pat Conmay said.
Conmay declined to say whether anything was taken from the victim. There are no suspects, he said.
Andersson was a licensed masseuse who lived alone, Conway said.
