Readers Hope for Human Concerns

We have been reading with bemusement the recent media coverage of the Huntington Sheraton hotel’s closure and the attempts by the public to save it.
While we appreciate buildings of historical significance, our hope is that someday people will show as much concern for old people as they do for old buildings. Also, wouldn’t it be wonderful if people were as concerned about helpless children worldwide as they are about helpless animals?
