Playboy Enterprises reported a first-quarter net loss of $2 million on revenue of $48 million. A year earlier, the Chicago-based company posted net income of $3.6 million. Included in last year’s net income was income from discontinued operations of $1.4 million related to the final settlement on the fiscal 1982 sale of the company’s United Kingdom gaming businesses. The company reported a $2.1-million decline in this year’s interest income from a year earlier.
