Canyon Country Shopping Center Being Expanded

A $3-million, 50,000-square-foot expansion and remodeling is under way at Canyon Center, largest shopping center serving Canyon Country in northern Los Angeles County.
The center at Soledad Canyon Road east of the Golden State Freeway was purchased three years ago by Forest & Co. of Sherman Oaks. Upon completion of the expansion, it will contain 250,000 square feet gross leasable space. Five buildings are being added on the 15-acre site.
The area has experienced a 16.2% population growth since 1980, according to Ira Forest, owner-developer.
