Canoga Park Resident Is Sought in Bar Killing

Los Angeles police detectives have identified a Canoga Park man as the prime suspect in the October killing of a Burbank man.
Police are searching for Juvenal Pizarro Chavez, 31, in the fatal shooting of Marcos Godoy, 23, Detective Phil Quartararo said. Godoy was shot Oct. 27 in a fight outside a bar in the 17700 block of Saticoy Street in Reseda.
Witnesses had been reluctant to speak to police but last week one identified Pizarro Chavez as the gunman, Quartararo said.
Godoy and a friend arrived at the Rincon Norteno bar shortly before 2 a.m. The friend entered the bar to use the restroom but, when Godoy tried to enter, he was stopped by Pizarro Chavez, a regular patron who said the bar was closed, Quartararo said. A fight broke out, Quartararo said, and Pizarro Chavez allegedly shot Godoy once in the chest with a small-caliber pistol.
Quartararo said Pizarro Chavez, a Mexican citizen whose nickname is Kiki, used the aliases Enrique Pizarro and Martin Hernandez. He was described as six feet tall, weighing 145 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
