A 6-year-old Pasadena boy riding his Christmas bicycle was killed when he was run over by a speeding automobile, police said Tuesday.
Ollie J. Love Jr., was struck Monday as he rode into the street from a driveway in the 1000 block of Summit Avenue, according to Agent John Cook of the Pasadena Police Department traffic division.
Cook said the motorist, Myron Jackson, 22, of Altadena, tried to avoid hitting the boy, causing the car to also strike Jose Martinez, who was using a leaf blower on the sidewalk.
The boy was pronounced dead at Huntington Memorial Hospital, where Martinez was reported in stable condition with a leg injury. Jackson was booked on suspicion of manslaughter, Cook said. He was held with bond set at $6,000.
