No Injuries in Acid Spill: Firefighters and a hazardous materials team were dispatched to Capistrano Beach on Wednesday after a gallon of hydrochloric acid burst when it apparently dropped from a vehicle, officials said. The spill generated strong fumes at Doheny Park Road and Victoria Boulevard about 8:40 a.m., according to Orange County Fire Department Capt. Lou Furst. No injuries were reported. The acid is used as an industrial cleaner. Although the immediate site was cordoned off, traffic was not diverted.
