Simi Valley Extends Building Moratorium
The Simi Valley City Council has voted to extend the city’s 45-day building moratorium through Nov. 28, according to City Atty. John Torrance.
The moratorium, which took effect on Dec. 2, was designed to allow the city to prohibit the approval of any major commercial, industrial or residential projects until the city completes updating its general plan in March, Torrance said. The council approved the extension on Monday.
The moratorium is the third adopted by the city since Oct. 21. It will not affect projects approved by the city before then, Torrance said.
