Local News in Brief : Pacoima Man Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run

A Pacoima man was arrested Monday on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a San Fernando woman who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday, Los Angeles police said.
The suspect, Gilbert Huerta, 21, was being held at the Police Department’s Foothill Division Jail, Sgt. Ken Dionne said.
The victim, Eulalia Martinez, 21, died at Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, about 45 minutes after she was hit in the 9700 block of San Fernando Road in Sun Valley, police said.
Witnesses told officers that the driver of the car fled after hitting the woman.
