We went searching for one-time actress Margaret Early last week for a 49th reunion at a Baton Rouge high school. A friend of Early saw the notice and called her. She’s now hoping to attend in April. Early, who appeared “mostly as comic relief” in such films as “Stage Door Canteen,” “Jezebel” and “40 Little Mothers,” gave up her career to marry in 1943, had two children and is still married and living happily in an Orange County beach town.
She said she was “stunned” by the sudden attention all these years later--”I was just a little bitty fish in a big pond”--and requested anonymity.
