Champion Sot Chitalada of Thailand retained his World Boxing Council flyweight title, scoring a unanimous 12-round decision over Mexican challenger Freddie Castillo in a bout in Kuwait.
The 22-year-old champion knocked down Castillo with a right hand in the third round and piled up points throughout the bout. A South Korean judge and an Egyptian judge both scored it 119-109, and an Italian judge had it 120-109.
The fight was believed to be the first title bout in the Middle East.
