An El Segundo businessman who police believe made as many as 1,000 obscene telephone calls in the South Bay area has pleaded no contest to six misdemeanor counts. David Arthur Cohen, 26, could receive a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine for each of the six counts when he is sentenced in Inglewood Municipal Court April 3. Cohen, who owns a sporting goods and apparel company, was arrested in October after he called an El Segundo woman a second time. Police had equipped her phone with a tracing device. Deputy Dist. Atty. Carol Fisch said Cohen used obscene language and threats to terrorize nine women in El Segundo, Torrance, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Hawthorne.
