After 5 1/2 years as director of the city Recreation Department, Kitty Rudometkin is resigning her post to take on another job: full-time motherhood.
At 38, the Yorba Linda resident has worked in both private and public recreation departments since 1968. But she said she is looking forward to her new career.
“I like my (recreation) job, but I’ve changed my priorities,” she said. “Now I’m going to spend more time with my children,” David, 4, and Jeffrey, 2.
Rudometkin’s last day is Friday. Janet Cates, a recreation supervisor, will become acting director of the department until the city manager hires a replacement.
The salary range for the director of recreation is between $32,900 and $42,000, said acting City Manager Mary O’Neil.
