“Cowboys of the Saturday Matinee.” Karl-Lorimar. $39.95. This homage to the B Westerns of the ‘30s and ‘40s is fast-moving fun, just like those old movies. The clips are arranged in categories--chases, gunfights, villains, et al. Host James Coburn makes humorously sarcastic comments throughout. One complaint: There’s plenty of footage on Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Buck Jones and Johnny Mack Brown but none on a legion of others, such as Tom Mix and Lash LaRue. Be careful--this tape may inspire you to rent as many of these old gems as you can find.
