UA signed a co-production deal with Hoyts.

The newly independent United Artists Corp. and Hoyts Corp. of Australia agreed to co-finance and co-produce up to three pictures a year for three years, said Anthony D. Thomopoulos, president of UA’s motion picture and television groups. Hoyts, an entertainment conglomerate that produces, exhibits and distributes films, is to distribute the jointly produced pictures in Australia and New Zealand, with UA distributing the films in the rest of the world.
