MOSCOW — Austrian actor Maximilian Schell, who played the title role in the “Peter the Great” TV miniseries married Soviet actress Natalia Andreichenko in Moscow this week, sources said Friday.
The Swiss Embassy confirmed an actor’s wedding had taken place there but declined to give details, saying he wanted privacy.
The 56-year-old Viennese actor and director played the part of old Peter in the film, shot in the ancient Russian religious center of Suzdal and shown in the United States in February.
Andreichenko, 29, famous as Mary Poppins in the Soviet version of the film, played Peter’s wife Evdokia in the TV movie.
