Pica’s Home Run Sparks Hornets to Metro Win, 16-10

Tony Pica’s three-run, pinch-hit home run sparked a six-run rally in the seventh inning Friday as the Hornets defeated the Gauchos, 16-10, in a Metro Conference game at Saddleback College.
Mark Tranberg and Bart Stroozas led the Hornets’ 17-hit attack with three hits and three RBIs each. Ken McNee added two hits, including a double.
Chris Doll pitched six strong innings in relief to get the victory. The Hornets are 2-3, the Gauchos 0-5.
