Shortsighted

My hat is off to the citizens of Simi Valley. With unemployment a major problem and state agencies trying to boost jobs locally, they do everything they can do to keep local people from working.
Instead of flat out opposing the request by Sylvester Stallone’s production company to use a three-mile stretch of the state-owned Simi Freeway, they should have tried to find a way to keep the business here.
We complain about unemployment. The state reponded by trying to make California more desirable to movie companies. We’re asked to give a little. What happens? The shortsighted people yell the loudest and block the project.
