Toxic Fumes Kill Two, Burn Dozens in Brooklyn

NEW YORK — Toxic fumes at a Brooklyn factory killed two workers, critically injured a third and sent two dozen police officers and emergency workers to the hospital with chemical burns, authorities said Sunday.
Workers cleaning a vat at the Ever New Fence Co. collapsed Saturday after inhaling the fumes, police said. The workers reportedly were using a paint thinner containing a chemical called trichloroethylene, which authorities suspect killed the two workers.
