Gov. Graham to Resign, Will Seek Seat in Senate

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Democratic Gov. Bob Graham filed qualifying papers Wednesday to run against Republican Sen. Paula Hawkins and resigned his office effective Jan. 3--a move required by state law that will make Lt. Gov. Wayne Mixson governor for three days.
