Whose Country?
I read with interest some of your letters (July 12) concerning bilingual education.
One letter from Grace B. Weinstein really set my teeth on edge. Weinstein asks “Whose country is this anyway?” in regard to Korean language street signs.
The answer is simple. As immigrants, no one is forced to give up their culture. By saying that this country belongs to those who do not look or act “foreign” is tantamount to high treason.
Ms. Weinstein, as a Jew, may I ask you something? Do you oppose all those terribly “foreign” signs in Hebrew, all along Fairfax?
